Vet the Vote, Mission43 and Idaho Secretary of State McGrane Hold Poll Worker Recruitment Event

Gathering educates veterans on how they can continue civic engagement

(Boise, Idaho) – Today, Vet the Vote, a national campaign to recruit veterans and military family members to be the next generation of poll workers, held a poll worker recruitment and kick-off event in partnership with Mission43 and Idaho Secretary of State Phil McGrane. The event brought together active military members, veterans and their families as well as the Ada County Clerk’s Office to inform veterans and their families on how they can serve as poll workers in upcoming elections.

“We are grateful to Idaho Vet the Vote and Mission43 for sponsoring this unique opportunity for servicemembers. Idaho’s veterans and military members have shown immense dedication to our nation, and they have the skills to make a significant impact at home as well,” said Secretary of State Phil McGrane. “By serving as poll workers, they can help safeguard the integrity of the voting process.”

“Vet the Vote is thrilled to work with Idaho leaders including Secretary of State McGrane and Ada County Clerk Tripple and Mission43 in educating and encouraging veterans to further serve their community and country. Today’s gathering illustrates how Boise’s veteran community can help address the shortage of poll workers our nation faces. Veterans are uniquely qualified to meet this moment and help get more people involved in the election process. We look forward to continuing our partnership and encouraging veterans to continue their service,” said Ben Keiser, Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of We the Veterans.

“Mission43 is honored to represent a community of over 10,000 service-minded military veterans and their spouses. We are proud to host Vet the Vote in Idaho, encouraging continued service to our country and communities by educating the next generation of poll workers,” said Dan Nelson, Mission43 Director.

“Poll workers play a vital role in our election system, and we rely on them to serve the community effectively on Election Day,” Ada County Clerk Trent Tripple said. “For veterans and military families, the spirit of service continues even after they take off their uniforms. It’s a lifelong commitment to step up and serve our nation and we hope they answer the call to serve as the new wave of poll workers.”
