Statewide, legislative, and Federal candidate filing window approaching final 5pm Friday deadline

(Boise, Idaho) – It’s the final countdown for Statewide, Legislative, and Federal candidates filing to run in the 2026 election cycle. The final deadline for candidates of these offices is today, February 27, at 5 p.m. MST. Candidates must complete the filing process at VoteIdaho.gov before the deadline.

The list of candidates who file by 5 p.m. will not be immediately available on VoteIdaho.gov. Each submission must be reviewed and verified by the Secretary of State’s elections team to confirm eligibility. A comprehensive and vetted list of candidates is expected to be available later this evening. VoteIdaho.gov will feature a banner once the list is finalized, and updates will also be shared on the Secretary of State’s social media channels.

Across Idaho, more than 350 candidates have successfully filed to appear on the May 19 primary election ballot.
